Storytelling Doubleheader in the East & West Village
Thank you, Adam Wade, for inviting me to tell at your monthly show last night at The Theatre Under St. Mark's. I had a ball. It was a great audience and your stories and films were amazing. Here are some pictures from Adam's show, along with a couple of backyard shots.

"Get The Cool Whip!" ~ Adam Wade Show Tonight
"He's a portly child," that's what my Mister Softee truck-sized grandmother told her girlfriend, Isabel Kurtz right in front of me as I opened my 12 year old birthday gift (late) that looked like it was wrapped by monkeys. Inside, the Christmas paper was a stiff pair of Husky Dungarees folded three times (years later, one of these would be tested as a heat shield tile on the Space Shuttle).
"Size 33! Perfect!" Nice and long, too, so I could roll them up and look like a double jerk. As I stood there mumbling curses under my breath (she had the hearing ability of an nocturnal animal), my grandmother said, "Tommy, get the Cool Whip, powdered sugar and Bundt cake." I put my Huskys down, got the stuff and served the master. Of course, I had a piece.
I'm telling a story about how I turned my Huskys car accident into one of the cooler Tee-Shirts I've ever owned. It's acquisition involved Sinatra's "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter."

Stoops to Nuts @ Cornelia St. Cafe @ 6pm ~ Tonight!
Last night Under St. Mark's Theatre I witnessed the best doubleheader I've seen since 1972 in the Old Yankee Stadium when Sparky Lyle saved two against the Tigers. The Adam Wade Show and the BTK Band, 18 innings of kick ass storytelling, song and visual treats. Golf clap in order here, "clap, clap, clap."
Tonight I'm carrying that energy over to City Stories: Stoops to Nuts tonight, Tuesday, March 13th @ 6pm at Cornelia Street Café. Our artists are Claudia Chopek, Joe McGinty, John Newell, Rick Patrick, Thomas Pryor, Rivka Widerman & Ward White. Giving away ten drinks. Getting our Irish up, its birthday week, bring your best game. $7 and saying "hoity toity," gets you in the door with a free drink.
Time Out Magazine picked "Stoops to Nuts" as a darn good thing to do this week. See link.
