"Hey Wood Head, Grow Up!"

I may act 8 but the birth certificate says, "Hey, Wood Head, grow up, you're sixty on the 20th."

I'm having a free show/party on March 11th, and all of my Stoops to Nuts friends are invited, all others the word's "Mum."

Next "City Stories: Stoops to Nuts," show is Tues, March 11 @ 5:30pm @Cornelia Street Cafe. It's a doozy, my guest tellers: Barbara Aliprantis, Cris Beam, Francis Flaherty, Robin Hirsch, Tim O'Mara,  Joshua Rebell,  Angelo Verga & Prof. Adam Wade.

Admission is free. Life's short, I'm thanking my friends, first drink on me. Time Out Magazine says, "Stoops to Nuts," is a positive experience not to be missed. No they didn't, but they do say it's a cool thing to do. Show starts sharp @ 5:30pm.

Long Ago, Not That Far Away

Yesterday, I passed the Old New Utrecht cemetery in Bensonhurst on 84th Street and 16th Avenue. It's graves date back to 1654 and though it is a designated city landmark its condition suffers but it was beautiful under the blue Brooklyn sky. Walking around the property, looking through the rusted cyclone fence I thought about the farm community surrounding the cemetery hundreds of years ago. With limited traffic (everyone was on line somewhere trying to buy gas) and few people walking by, picturing that was easy.

Here are photographs of the one acre site, Tony Manero Way (did not see Travolta or anyone carrying paint cans) and photos of the New Reformed Church with a large downed tree at 83rd Street and 18th Avenue.

Our next "City Stories: Stoops to Nuts" storytelling show at Cornelia Street Cafe is Tuesday, November 13th @ 6pm, our artists: Michele Carlo, Julia Joseph, John Newell and Tim O'Mara. Admission is $8 and that includes a free drink.

Everyday I Write The Book ~ Yorkville Radio Tonight @ 9pm

Tonight on "Yorkville: Stoops to Nuts" radio @ 9pm @ Centanni Broadcasting Network my guests are: Timothy J. O'Mara & Barry Stabile.

Listen here live or on archive at your convenience:

Tim is a terrific author who's just signed up with two agents to sell his book, "Sacrifice Fly," and Tim is the co-founder of the We Three Productions Reading series (16 years old and going strong at Bar 82). Tim has something on his mind and plans on bringing it to Giovanna's Restaurant tonight.

Barry Stabile is an accomplished musician and yarn spinner. He's currently part of "All Mobbed Up." The group was the house band at Cha~Cha's on the Coney Island boardwalk this past summer on Friday nights. Unfortunately, Cha~Cha's lost their lease and like hundreds of things long gone at the beach, it's gone forever. Barry grew up in Bay Ridge and he and I will have lots to say on that subject, starting with the guy who put a bullet in his friend's caboose with a hammer as the trigger, it's a long story, listen tonight and Barry will tell you all about it.

I'm in a Clay Cole and Sandy Becker mood. Thinking of Clay's Christmas shows and Sandy Becker going bananas, "Hambone, Hambone, have you heard? Momma's going to buy you a mocking bird, and if that mocking bird don't sing..."
