Central Park, Dad and Me ~ Now & Then

I was organizing my photos and noticed a picture that reminded of a scene I've been seeing my whole life. A location we picked to release turtles when they grew too big for Mom's liking.

I went through Dad's old shots and found one of Central Park looking across a lake past a wooden shelter towards the northwest with the buildings to the right.

I framed a similar shot last week, 51 years later.

Dad and I love Central Park equally.

Turtles Reunion in Central Park

I witnessed a remarkable reunion in Central Park yesterday, "The Turtles!" That's right, "The Turtles," performed four songs while sunning on a rock in Rowboat Lake.

They crooned, "She'd Rather Be With Me," Elenore," "You Showed Me," & "She's My Girl," with one encore, "Hungry Heart."

Bruce Springsteen turned into a Turtle and joined them on the rock. See the pictures, the little guy on left is "The Turtles" new drummer, Moe.

Time Has Come Today

Time has come today for Buddy McMahon. As the student body heads back into the building after the fire drill, Buddy & his plastic LaSalle school bag cross Second Avenue heading for the # 6 on Bleecker Street. He's on his way to the Living Room in Park Slope to see a terrific comedy show.

Tonight, I'll perform a story @ Luke Thayer & Abbi Crutchfield’’s show ~ The Living Room at Postmark CafĂ© (free admission) ~ 326 6th Street (between 4th & 5th Avenues) ~ Park Slope, Brooklyn.

3 blocks from the 9thStreet R station & the 4thAve/9th St. F stop.

Come down, throw fruit!
