Winter Shadows ~ 330pm, Today, Free Storytelling at Magnet Theatre

84 St from 507 looking towards East End Ave
I'm telling an ol' Yorkville yarn today, Sunday, February 23rd at a FREE show concluding Adam Wade's Level 2 Storytelling class. That's 3:30pm, TODAY at Magnet Theater's TRAINING CENTER - 259 W. 30th Street in the Playtex Chapel on the 2nd floor.

Yesterday, I walked along 2nd Avenue from the high 70s to the mid 80s as the sun dropped across the east side of the avenue. I walked down a number of blocks to catch the shadows of the trees against the tenements. Here's one shot of 2nd Avenue and two from the inside blocks.

Storytelling Show at Magnet Theatre Tomorrow ~ Luke Kicking Ass in Brooklyn

Did I ever tell you the story involving 2 Air Canada stewardesses, 4 bras, Reggie Fleming & the 1960s Rock & Roll show Hullabaloo? I was 11, Steve was 12, it was Feb 1966 when all these things delightfully converged... Believe It or Not!

I'm telling the whole story, tomorrow, Sunday, February 23rd at a FREE show concluding Adam Wade's Level 2 Storytelling class. That's 3:30pm, Sunday, Feb 23rd at Magnet Theater's TRAINING CENTER - 259 W. 30th Street in the Playtex Chapel on the 2nd floor.

Last night, I attended Luke Thayer's sold out late show at the Postmark Cafe in Park Slope. Luke was terrific, Abbi Crutchfield's opening set the table perfectly.

Everything works better with a solid partner in crime, Great show,Luke, super duper MC-ing, Abbi. Your crowd loved you.

Ghost Girls Sleigh ~ Yorkville Town Meeting ~ Two Shows!

Fog, snow, and four girls on two sleds. I saw this scene from the street and ran into Owls Head Park to take a few pictures. The kids were giddy with pleasure from owning the space.

There was no one else there but these four ghost girls.

They were "Queens of the Hill."

Last night, Mayor DeVivo called a Yorkville Town Hall Meeting.  We met at Fetch on 92nd Street and Third Avenue. Chief of Staff, Jimmy O'Brien called the meeting to order. much was accomplish

P.S. 77 Mothers' Club Supports Nerds

From the group that put an 18 inch ruler on every P.S. 77 desk comes a new cause, Melodious Mothers support Adam Wade's "Whatever Happened to the Nerds?"

Ten women, three tons of song directed at a public clamoring for a good story. The P.S. 77 Mother's Club has long stood behind worthy causes: leaner cold cuts, more crumbs on Glaser's Sunday cake, and clean bathrooms in Carl Schurz Park.

I spoke with Adam Wade by phone,"I can't say enough how great it feels to have the Mother's Club behind me. They throw amazing parties with terrific food, and always close the show with "Fine & Dandy," one of my favorite George Carlin bits."

Less you be in trouble with the girls:

Tonight, drop by "Whatever Happened to the Nerds?" with a great storytelling lineup:

Peter Aguero, Maya Genis, Jake Goldman, Thomas Pryor, Andy Ross and your host, Adam Wade.

@ 8:30pm @ Magnet Theater @ 254 West 29th Street. (bet. 7th & 8th Ave)

You Can Have the Apartment, Over Her Dead Body

Last night's storytelling show at Professor Adam Wade's Graduation Soiree was so good, I got up at 6am and rode my bike to Coney Island and did a five mile Boardwalk run. I was four miles into the run, right in front of the Wonder Wheel, when I remembered I had my hips replaced eight years ago, and Doctor Zuckerman told me not to run, and I thought, "he's going to kill me," but I didn't care, because last night's story telling was that good. The six killers last night: Celeste Arias, Chrissy Brown, Dan Diggles, Megan Gray, Erin Kilkenny, Miguel de Leon

I finished the run, now I'm going for a swim, and after the swim I'm going to tell my story to the birds, and if the birds like it, I'm going to repeat it tonight to an audience @ 8pm @ tonight @ Magnet Theater @ 259 West 30th Street, 2nd Floor, with four other terrific storytellers.
Kelly Wallace-Barnhill, Lindsay Gentile, Henry Johnson, & Rachel Pertile.

Come down to the Magnet Theater, hear our tales, throw rotten fruit at our heads if we fail to please. Hit Adam , too.

My story's called, "You Can Have The Apartment, Over Her Dead Body."

"Mercy, Mercy, Mercy," by the Buckinghams, the song playing on the Coney Island Boardwalk during my first visit there in July 1967.
