The Sky Goes Crayola

Early March, on a late afternoon before the clocks changed, I biked south under the Westside Highway. Between 72nd & 59th Streets, riding slow with the winter sun sinking, I felt heat, then cold. Then the same, heat, cold, on and on ~ little bursts of each. Under the highway, giant pillars rise up, set apart every 60 feet. They block the sun for 10 feet, then you open in the glow again before the next pillar. The right side of my face turned into a Christmas tree light. A most pleasant sensation.

Later heading home, the sunset put on a show. Watching the sky go Crayola, Peter Wolf sang "Lights Out," on my Ipod. Dig those colors.
