Manhattanhenge, Returns Tonight

York Ave. & 79 St.
Manhattanhenge is an evening event when the sun lines up with the main artery streets in Manhattan.

I took this top shot in 2012 on York Avenue and 79th Street.

Here is  a New York Times piece on Manhattanhenge from today's newspaper.

The photos below I shot last year on West 72nd Street looking west from The Dakota, and the other on York Avenue & 86th Street towards Fifth Avenue on a not so clear night when the sun was playing hard to get behind clouds.

Sunset, Stoops to Nuts, Steve Northeast

Here are sunset pictures I took last night at 79th Street and York Avenue. Below them are shots from the Village.

Our next "City Stories: Stoops to Nuts" show Tues, July 10th @ 6pm @ Cornelia Street Cafe made Time Out Magazine as a darn good thing to do.

Storytelling by Tricia Alexandro, Julia Greenberg, Jim Hawkins, Lisa Kirchner, Thomas Pryor & Debby Schwartz.

Summer is steaming, cool off, come down to the telling. $8 admission with a free drink. A neat exchange on a hot night.

Steve Northeast, our host at Cornelia Street CafĂ©, released his second terrific single off his new album "Sand and Stone". Please listen to the tune and if you like it please vote for it at www.independentmusicnetwork.com in the mainstream charts by clicking on Steve Northeast "Sand and Stone".

Yorkville Sunset Near the Equinox

Near sunset last night, I strolled up 79th Street then walked north on Fifth Avenue. The near equinox light was other worldly. I found a puddle in front of the Met Museum doing pointillist tricks with the reflection of the buildings on the east side of the avenue.

The quiet streets had few people and cars.

Yorkville walk time.
