Old Faces in Yorkville - Stoops to Nuts @ Ryan's Daughter tomorrow night!

83rd to 84th St east side of York Avenue

83rd to 84th St on York Ave (east side) - a line of buildings with facades unchanged for 100 years except for a single house that had a unattractive face lift in the early 1960s, the perp is obvious. This is the block with Parkers Grocery (Murray), Old Timers Tavern, Spotless Cleaners, Lee Laundry (Stanley Hom), Reliable Meats, Mayo's Butcher, Joe's Candy Store & later Turf Cheesecake. Gained 17 pounds in two months when that one opened.

Below, 87th to 88th St on east side of First Ave. Another rare stretch of avenue facing tenements w/o improvements appearing as they were.

"Yorkville: Stoops to Nuts" storytelling show is coming back to Ryans Daughter @ 350 E. 85th St. tomorrow Wednesday, April 3rd @ 7pm. Our amazing artists: Tricia Alexandro, Michele Carlo, Luke Thayer, Adam Wade, Eric Vetter, Alex De Suze & Seth Foster. I'll host and tell a Yorkville yarn. Free Event!
