"At The Polo Grounds," then off to "Stoops to Nuts" @ Cornelia @ 6pm, Tonight!

Today is the anniversary of the last baseball opening day at the Polo Grounds in 1963. Here's a wonderful story about the dark cathedral at Coogan's Bluff by Ken Belson in today's NY Times.

Here's a link to my 1962 story, "At The Polo Grounds," published in Mr. Beller's Neighborhood.

Tonight!  "City Stories: Stoops to Nuts" @ Cornelia Street Cafe, Tues, April 9th @ 6pm. Our guests: Kurt Gertsmann, Pauline Findlay, Tim O'Mara and Amanda Thorpe. I'll host and tell a yarn. Admission is $8 with a free drink.

This week, Time Out Magazine picked "City Stories: Stoops to Nuts" as a cool thing to do (pg. 43 in the hard copy).

Hope to see you there.
