Last Thursday, I attended a rolling benefit at Gizzi Cafe that Kenji Tajima has been hosting ever since the melt down in Japan. I came to hear my friend,Debby Schwartz, perform a set to support the effort.
Debby was terrific, playing her original songs with heart, depth and soaring voice. She will release a new CD record this fall. Debby closed her set with a Youngbloods cover appropriate for the cause, “Get Together.” Gizzi's Cafe is located at 16 West 8th St, NYC, between 5th & 6th Avenue. Cute place, great service.Before and after the show I took some pictures in the neighborhood, here they are.
